Join us at the Durham Art Gallery for our March Break workshops for kids.

Paper Marbling & Card Making Workshop

ARTIST INSTRUCTOR: Ann Chaban

DATE: Wednesday, March 12th  

TIME: 10am – 12pm 

AGE: 7-10 years 

FEE: $35 ($30 for DAG members)

 

We will be making our own marbled swirled decorative papers

and once they dry, we will use our papers to make our own cards

or small notebooks. 

Screen Printing Adventures

ARTIST INSTRUCTOR: Carol Sebert

DATE: Thursday, March 13th

TIME: 10am – 3pm (bring your own lunch)

AGE: 8+ years

FEE: $55 ($50 for DAG members)

A one-day workshop exploring screen printing.

The course will include designing an image with a discussion of positive and negative shapes.

Stencils will be cut by hand and using a squeegee, the ink will be pressed on to paper.  Multiple images will be made. Screen printing is a great way to explore printmaking as each multiple images will have a similarity, but due to the process, each will have its own individual flare.

 
Colour Explorations

ARTIST INSTRUCTOR: Jen Clark

DATE: Friday, March 14th

TIME: 10am – 12pm 

AGE: 5-7 years

FEE: $35 ($30 for DAG members)

Learn how to mix colours with wet-on-wet watercolour paint techniques

followed by guided painting and collage experiments!
