Book Launch Party
When the Trees All Burned  by Alanna Rusnack

Join us for an afternoon where apocalyptic fiction meets artistic revolution at the launch of WHEN THE TREES ALL BURNED, set against the backdrop of 'Margins & Peripheries' - an exhibition that explores the boundless possibilities shimmering at society's edges.

Like one of the novel's protagonists Aiya Efron, a Toronto artist whose work challenges conventional boundaries, 'Margins & Peripheries' invites us to step beyond our familiar perspectives. What better setting to introduce a story that asks us to imagine life from humanity's most extreme margin - the precipice of extinction?

As 'Margins & Peripheries' examines the unexpected complexities lurking beyond conventional boundaries, WHEN THE TREES ALL BURNED pushes us to the ultimate periphery, where civilization itself hangs in the balance. Both the exhibition and novel challenge us to walk in unfamiliar shoes, to see through others' eyes, to question what lies beyond the boundaries we take for granted.

Experience this unique convergence of art and literature at The Durham Art Gallery, where the exhibition's exploration of shifting perspectives perfectly mirrors the novel's journey from the margins of society to the centre of survival.

Join author Alanna Rusnak for readings, discussion, and light refreshments in this perfectly curated space where, like both the exhibiting artists and the novel's characters, we'll gather to celebrate humanity's drive to create meaning from the fringes of existence.

Step into a world where the conventional boundaries between art, literature, and survival blur into something extraordinary.
